shipwrecked!

The sky was as clear as it could be. The pleasant ocean breeze whispered and passed by me until the storm came. thousands of black clouds surrounded the sky blocking the mighty sunlight from reaching our decks. All of the sailors including me thought this was nothing but a sudden weather change that took our sunlight away. Then suddenly, There was a thunderbolt, and ship tilted. Everyone was in panic. The ship violently moved side to side with heavy rains falling on us. We were not prepared for this natural catastrophe since we never experienced such things. We shouted and shouted to each other to get our ships out of this place. CRASH! The sound repeated inside my head over and over until I have realized that it was too late. We were doomed to death. I couldn't see, I couldn't hear others. I was the only one on the ship. I imagined myself suffocating and drowning with great deal of pain in the deep wide ocean. Fear surrounded my mind. So i went to my cabin, grabbed necessary things such as foods, clothes, and put it in my backpack. After praying for the best possible scenario, i have dropped myself into the water, hoping that it would take me back to the land.
When I woke up, everything was dark. When I have opened my eyes, the sky was as clear as it could be. Just like when I have started this voyage. I thought this was a dream until i heard the waves eroding the rocks, seagulls crying out loud above me. I was alive! I woke up realizing that my backpack was next to me with sands covered with it. I lifted myself up with a joy that I was going to live. I walked and walked hoping that I was going to find someone who can help me get to the final destination. I walked for hours, and hours. When i have reached the top of the island with my minds filled with half hopes, and half despairs, I dropped onto the ground, and cried. There was no sign of any villages or even a man made structure. I was marooned in a small island where they can't find me. I realized that I had to live here for a while until I was able to go home. I ate the bread I packed, and watched the beautiful ocean view until the blue horizon engulfed the bright sunlight.
It has been two months since I have reached its islands. I have made myself a home with few survival guides i found on the ship. No ships or airplanes passed. Some people might give up, but not me. I have a family waiting for me in my house who must be praying everyday. I am mostly done with building a small boat. When I am finished with the boat, I will be sailing out through the ocean. I might fail, but I will try again as long as I am alive. Someday, I hope, I will get out of this lonely piece of land, And I will tell my friends, family, and neighbors every single details of this story.

Airport (Hate Poem)

With my face all frowned,
Not again!
I stop myself
with my carry-on
in front of the airport
airport, and i start thinking
its the only place i abominate
Honestly, Its funny how
some people are
odd enough to consider
this place a start
of adventure, excitement,
come on, its nothing but a
place for flying metals
But me?
Its just a
sad continuance of
yawning, pain, and insomnia
When I have passed that door
I will be suffering from a jet lag and
all sorts of awful sins that awaits for me
forever and ever
while i am fighting against the depressions that saddens me,
i feel a touch on my shoulder
I wake up from a nightmare
my mom hurries me up
and i start walking toward
the airport
with my face all frowned
not again!

I think that writing a slam poetry was quite enjoyable. I think that it was very fun and exciting since you were able to express your negative feelings toward your peers and you don't get to do these things on normal types of poetry. I also liked to listen to someone elses poems. It was a very fun activity and i personally liked it.

Where I am From

I am from garden
full of roses and tulips.
I am from the desert
where tropical trees laid across my street.

I am from Camry
from baldwin stocker and First Avenue
I am from know it all,
where test happens everyday.

I am from church
with red bricks
all the verses that make us christians
I am from Eddies
Where best hotdogs in the world are made.
From the effort our family has put in
Our town shines bright.

Under my bed, there was a case
filled with diaries
and memories.
That reminds me of happiness./
I am from the past
Where everything was
Peaceful and joyful.

Waterfall (POEM!!)

Tiny sound coming out of nowhere
Becoming bigger and bigger until you can not bear
Shining water streaming through the Forrest
Until the steaming cloud shows up at last.

Connection between Pearl and the article

Distraught over money, man kills family, himself - Los Angeles Times
articles.latimes.com/2007/jun/20/local/me-sbriefs20.2

According to this article, it states that a berkely man distraught over family financial problems fatally shot his wife, and two young children before turning the gun on. I think that this article is related to John Steinbeck's Pearl because Kino was also blinded by wealth to make a wrong decision. He knew that his family was more important then a pearl, but his first priority eventually became the pearl, which means family. The guy mentioned in the article also have been blinded by his finacial problem, and chose that over his family. I think that by the fact they were both blinded by wealth was the fact that made connections between the novel 'Pearl' and this article.
